 My son who is 9 years now have convulsion from 9 months. He has got atleast 15 times as of now. I am scared now. Doctors has told to take gardenel tablet everyday for 3 years. Please let me know this will cause side effects. And also If I start this tablet will he not get again. Please suggest for a permanent cure as I am in confusion state.

 when my daughter suffred from febrile convulsion i have been suggested to give the paracetamol, sponge the whole body with water and give the tablet of frisium (5mg). this tablet needs to be given for three days which contains clobazam

 during convulsion the foremost thing is do not panic. be cool. next if the child has high fever literally dip the child in cold water. also there is a very good medicine named rec-z which is a rectal prepartion. parents of children who often have febrile convulsions must keep this handy. once the convulsion is over consult or take the child to the hospital as soon as possible. febrile convulsion often stop after the age of five.

 a family history of febrile convulsion can be a causative factor. if either parent has had even one episode of febrile fits in childhood, the child is likely to have it.the vulnerable age seems to be 6 months to 6 years
